Homeless Shelter
Homeless Shelter
Peter Hills Primary staff volunteer at the @Growth homeless shelter as part of our service to the community.
The night shelter provides both immediate shelter for homeless men and women and assistance in securing more permanent longer-term accommodation. It operates for seven months of the year and guests are welcomed from the local area without discrimination or favour.
Staff at Peter Hills assist with setting up beds and serving food. -
Wrap Up London
Wrap Up London
Children and families collect coats to donate to Wrap Up London. This is an annual coat collection organised by @HandsOnLondon_, to support people at risk during the winter.

Christmas Foodbank 2020We don't believe anyone in our community should go hungry, especially during Christmas. With support from local traders, The Amicable Society, Rotherhithe Consolidated Charities & Gomm Educational Foundation, we have been able to fulfil our Christian duty by providing every day essentials to our most vulnerable families.

Time & Talents
Teachers work alongside local group Time & Talents to provide intergenerational links with members of our community. This has involved teas, concerts, gardening, carol singing and much more.

Tesco Food Drive
Tesco Food Drive
Children are selected to visit Tesco, Surrey Quays to take part
in a food drive. The food drive is run by Trussel Trust and Fare Share. Our children greet Tesco customers on their way into store and encourage them to donate items needed from a local food bank. The food is used to support families and individuals who are struggling to put food on the table at Christmas. -
Remembrance Day

Peter Hills children were asked to attend a special Remembrance Service at the West Lane War Memorial. They lay a wreath to remember the service people who have lost their lives or been injured in wars.

Every child within our Federation will have access to a new laptop. This will enable quality remote learning and ease pressure
on parents to provide such equipment. -

Staff delivered daily live Phonics, Maths, English and Topic lessons, with the church leading remote religious celebrations in order to continue delivery of the curriculum.
Mr Talabi, our PE lead, concentrated on live PE sessions that both pupils and parents could be involved in. -

As the pandemic worsened and countries around Europe began the process of closing, our staff took the decision to ensure every child had a laptop for remote learning before the PM announced the date for school closures. Utilising all funding streams and donations made this possible for EVERY pupil.

We provide a Big Breakfast every half term for all of our families - it is free of charge and a brilliant way for our families to connect and share food together.

International Afternoon

Our families come together to share in music, food and celebration of the multitude of backgrounds our small school is built of.
Each class prepares a song from a different culture. Parents are invited to donate food and we come together after the concert to share the food. -
Parent Participation Days

We invite families in on a regular basis, to take part in celebration days with their child's class. Most recently, we have had tea parties, a Carribean festival and a sculpture workshop!

Children worked alongside artist Hannah Littlejones and charity Mums For Lungs to create giant CLEAN OUR AIR lettering. The lettering was exhibited at the Lambeth Country Show, where members of the public were able to add to the art by creating foliage from recycled materials.
